The inauguration ceremony of the newly elected CatholicosPatriarch of House of Cilicia Krikor Bedros took place on August 9.

Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I, representative of the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II, archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian, representatives of the Holy See’s Congregation for Eastern Churches, the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon, Armenian and foreign high ranking religious representatives, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, ministers, deputies, high ranking military officials, heads of national organizations.

After accepting the Patriarchal Throne Catholicos­Patriarch Krikor Bedros delivered his first liturgy. In his speech the Catholicos­Patriarch expressed his gratitude to the President of Armenia, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, and the Catholicos of All Armenians for their support and assured that he will do everything to strengthen and deepen cooperation with the motherland authorities and the two Chairs. After the liturgy supper was delivered during which many congratulatory messages to the newly elected Catholicos were read. Ambassador Kocharyan read the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
