The international conference entitled “The Mission of the Armenian Clergy in the Near East during the years of the Armenian Genocide” will kick off at the hall of the Gevorgyan Spiritual Lyceum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on April 7 at 12:00 (Address: Vagharshapat city, Gevorgyan Spiritual Lyceum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin).

The conference will be held under the auspices of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, at the initiative of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and with the support of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Armenian Catholic Church, the Armenian Evangelical Union and Noravank Scientific-Educational Foundation.

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan will give her opening remarks, which will be followed by the blessings by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians and His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.

Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Catholic Church of Armenia, Georgia, Russia and Eastern Europe, Father, Archbishop Rafael Minasyan and Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the NAS RA Ruben Safrastyan will give welcome speeches.

The guests and participants of the conference will participate in a Divine Liturgy prior to the conference.
