Concert dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial in Mexico

On March 31, the Requiem by great Armenian composer Tigran Mansurian was performed in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide at the Chamber of the Arts in Mexico. The event was organized by the RA Embassy in Mexico and the organizers of the annual Festival of the Historic Center of Mexico City, as the RA MFA press service reports.

Among the attendees were maestro Tigran Mansurian, RA Ambassador to Mexico Grigor Hovhannisyan, Ambassadors, public and political figures, as well as diplomats and journalists.

The song by the great composer at the festival was performed by Mexico’s top Mineria Symphony Orchestra and Vocalis Chamber Choir under the direction of Robert Mlkeyan, who had been especially invited from Armenia.

The first part of the concert included performances of the songs of Komitas and Britten by world famous violist Kim Kashkashian. The audience warmly applauded the performers, and the media provided wide coverage of the event.
