“Leave business interests aside, recognize the Armenian Genocide!”-sitting strike in front of British Embassy (video)
Young members of the Armenian Youth Association of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsuytun in Armenia and the Nigol Aghbalian Student Association held today a protest in front of the British Embassy with the demand for recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, without any word games that humiliate the Armenian people.
According to 1in.am, the youth sat in front of the embassy for nearly 20 minutes. Some of them had closed their eyes, others had closed their mouths, and others had closed their ears. With this, the youth were presenting the image of countries that are leading a policy of silence, aren’t condemning the Armenian Genocide and aren’t paying heed to the calls of the Armenian people, who are standing up for their claims.
“As we approach the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, Great Britain must unburden its conscience and show the Armenians that it is moral,” the youth mentioned, urging Great Britain to leave business interests aside and stay true to the European policy.
They wanted to submit their demands to the Ambassador, but one of the Armenian employees of the British Embassy approached them and promised to transfer the indent to the Ambassador so that the latter would later submit it to the UK government.
