From now on, Agos Weekly will be presenting films devoted to the Armenian Genocide, and the first of them is Hagop Goudsouzian’s film “My Son SHall Be Armenian”. According to Agos, the film, which is considered one of the most precious in terms of the story and content, serves as a bridge between the past and present, writes yerkir.am.
Produced in 2004 in Canada, Hagop Goudsouzian’s film presents the journey of five Montreal-based men and women survivors of the Armenian Genocide to the lands of their ancestors as they follow the traces of their identity and history. The film also presents how the Armenians lived in the villages before the Genocide, the journey to Deir ez-Zor and shows what happened to the elderly men and their families.
In addition to archival photos, the film also presents testimonies of Armenians who escaped the Armenian Genocide and settled in the United States. Click here to watch the English version of the 80-minute film.
