A “mosaic” of the life of the Kazakh-Armenian community (photos)

These days the Armenian community of Kazakhstan is actively participating in community events, and this is mainly due to the focus of RA Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ara Sahakyan on issues concerning the community, the pro-Armenian activities of Armenian school and cultural associations, particularly the Armenian Youth Foundation of Kazakhstan, as well as the Kazakh-Armenians’ drive to carry out pro-national activities aimed at preserving the Armenian identity away from the Homeland. More and more events are held every day.

On March 13, Astana hosted a lecture devoted to Parajanov and the screening of his film “The Color of Pomegranate”.

On March 20, the 4th International Festival for Children’s Creations kicked off in Almaty, and two days later, on March 22, it was announced that Almaty’s Nairi Armenian Song and Dance Ensemble had won the grand prize.

On March 24, members of the Armenian community had a meeting with RA Ambassador Ara Sahakyan at the Armenian Home in Almaty where they discussed issues related to the Armenia-Diaspora partnership and the community’s upcoming programs and events.

Starting from March 27, screenings of films devoted to the Armenian Genocide will be held in Astana, Almaty, Constanta and Aknau.

On April 3, Honorary Consul in Bishkek Petros Shahinyan and leader of the local Armenian community Ashot Ghondakhchyan will organize a roundtable discussion on the Armenian Genocide, which will include a speech by RA Ambassador Ara Sahakyan.

On April 4, the Kazakh city of Pavlodar will solemnly celebrate the 20th anniversary of the foundation of Hairenik Armenian Cultural Center with representatives of Armenian organizations from different parts of Kazakhstan.

On April 7, Motherhood and Beauty Day, the Armenian communities of Astana and Aklomay region will visit the memorial complex established in the former women’s community.
