Brazil’s Armenian soccer team celebrating its 30th anniversary
On March 15, the “Armenian Fedayis” soccer team of San Paolo celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Today the team is playing in the first group of the Brazilian championship. The “Armenian Fedayis” include Armenian and Brazilian soccer players.
The “Armenian Fedayis” soccer team was formed on March 15, 1985 and was acknowledged as a professional team in March 2010.
The goal of the team is to keep Armenians’ reputation high, serve the Armenians and support the nation.
“This team was formed by several young Armenians to present the Armenian nation to the locals. Today, whenever we take part in championship series, everyone knows and looks at us as Armenia’s soccer team. They know that we’re different from the Arab, Greek and other communities,” the club’s founder, speaker for San Paolo’s Armenia Eternal Armenian radio hour Sarkis Karamekian said in an interview with Hayern Aysor.
