Newly appointed Iraqi Ambassador presents Armenia’s FM with copies of credentials

On June 20, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq Ghazi Taher Khaled presented the copies of his credentials to RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan.
Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, Edward Nalbandyan wished him success in his mission and voiced hope that the Ambassador would contribute to further strengthening of the friendly, historical and traditional relations between Armenia and Iraq. The minister underlined that the reciprocal visits of high-ranking officials between the two countries and the reopening of the embassies in the capitals of the two countries over the past years have served as a new impetus for the Armenian-Iraqi relations.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Khaled assured that he would make every effort to develop the bilateral cooperation in different spheres. Khaled added that Iraq attaches importance to the expansion and deepening of cooperation with friendly Armenia and underlined the contributions of the Iraqi-Armenian community to the development and prosperity of the country.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the developments taking place in the Near East and the steps aimed at ensuring stability and security in Iraq, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
