Armenian deputy of the Iranian Mejlis Robert Beglarian has congratulated Hasan Rohani on being elected in the office of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and has presented a package of proposals related to minorities in the country, reports “ArmenPress”, citing the Armenian Alik newspaper of Tehran.
The package includes an article, which is summed up under the title “Hope and Adherence for Religious Minorities” and particularly states the following: “On my behalf, as well as on behalf of the Iranian-Armenian community and other religious minorities, I convey my congratulatory remarks to Hoja Doctor Rohani on the deserving election. I hope you will be able to allow the great people of Iran to experience good moments with your efforts, skills, adherence and cooperation based on the experience of the past two decades of revolution.”
In the other section of his article, the Armenian deputy touches upon the disturbances taking place in Turkey, mentioning that the reason for such a policy is because the country wants to conceal its history.
At the end of the article, the author presents the Iranian-Armenian community’s expectations and demands from the newly elected Iranian President, including a higher role for women in politics and different spheres of society, special and practical approach to the difficulties that youth face, as well as moral and financial support to the cultural, educational, non-governmental and benevolent centers of religious minorities. The article also mentions that there is a need to be consistent with eliminating the difficulties facing different state structures involved in solving the issues related to religious minorities.
Robert Beglarian’s package of proposals also underlines that the religious minorities also include scientists and professionals who deserve to be engaged in the higher government and administrative bodies as assistants or advisors.
