Arno Hayanjanian has produced a new documentary about the Armenian Genocide called “Desert Roads”, which will be shown in France in April 2015, writes Nouvelles d’Arménie, as News.am reports.
“When I was 20, I discovered that my ancestors had survived genocide in 1915,” director Arno Hayanjanian mentioned. After the discovery, he followed the traces of his ancestors, traveled to Armenia and Turkey and decided to make a documentary.
Walking 47 km in Anatolia, he followed the traces of his ancestors who had survived the Armenian Genocide. “The road that I took was the road that the deportees had taken. The images of winter seem to “engage in a dialogue” with the voices of the generations of survivors. I won’t be just remembering the victims of the Armenian Genocide and sharing the pain of their generations. I’ll also be making the voices of the generations of the sanctified victims heard, the voices that the world has silenced,” Hayanjanian mentioned.
