Students of the Saint Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Sunday School of Almelo, Homenetmen members and students of the one-day Armenian school of Hoeven participated in a ceremony devoted to the New Year and Armenian Christmas at the hall of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Almelo.

The ceremony began with a prayer by Father Mashtots and good wishes, followed by a performance of the Armenian national anthem. The school principal read RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan’s message on the occasion of the New Year and Armenian Christmas, which was also read in Dutch by Angela, one of the teachers.

The children and their teachers performed several songs, dances, recited poems and had many surprises in store for the audience. The children greeted Santa Claus, who suddenly entered the hall and filled the air with more happiness. Everyone was happy, and at the end, all the children received gifts from Santa Claus.
