“Hand-to-Hand for Darbnik”

The Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia (FYCA, www.fyca.net), which is Armenia’s largest youth organization, has organized a charity initiative that will help refugee and repatriate families in the Darbnik village of Ararat Province on December 22, 2014.
Darbnik is a small village with a population of 1,200, of which 90% are Syrian-Armenian, Iraqi-Armenian and Azerbaijani-Armenian families having taken shelter in Armenia. After facing difficulties and living in danger, these people have finally settled in the Homeland. They live in unfavorable conditions, lack the necessary conditions and face a problem with transportation. In addition, the refugee families of Darbnik also have a problem with integration into social and civic life.
Taking all this into consideration and joining the call of the RA Ministry of Diaspora (“Give a Happy New Year” initiative), the first initiative of which is the 100 Celebrities for 100 Syrian-Armenian Children initiative (created at the initiative of the “Hayern Aysor” electronic newspaper of the Ministry of Diaspora and the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO), which was followed by the preparation of gifts of Armenia and international organizations for Syrian-Armenian and Iraqi-Armenian children, the Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia has organized the “Hand-to-Hand for Darbnik” charity initiative with the desire to mitigate the worries of refugee families to a certain extent before the New Year.
Through this charity initiative, the families will receive packages of toys, clothes, as well as pastry and writing accessories. On this occasion, the FYCA has appealed to state organization, Ambassadors accredited to Armenia, as well as commercial and non-commercial organizations with the call to join the initiative and provide assistance. The FYCA has created pages on social networks and has printed informative flyers to engage the wide layers of society.
The World Armenian Youth Network (WostAYN), the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese, the Youth Club of Charentsavan, “Barekamutyun” NGO, the Armenian PR Association, the International Women’s Association of Yerevan, as well as several individuals from Armenia and the Diaspora have already expressed their support to the initiative.
Those interested can participate in the “Hand-to-Hand for Darbnik” charity initiative by making a donation by December 19, 2014, included. The donators will be invited to visit Darbnik on December 22.
