On December 14, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Berge Setrakian at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, reports the news service of the Mother See.

During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians and the AGBU President touched upon the Union’s pro-national activities and upcoming programs in the Homeland and in the Diaspora. The sides also discussed the social and educational programs and church construction projects that are being carried out in association with the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church.

In relation to this, His Holiness transmitted his blessing to the members of the AGBU for their ongoing support to the Armenian Church and especially the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Supreme Patriarch also expressed his appreciation of the benefactors of the Mother See, Mr. and Mrs. Setrakian for their pro-national efforts and love for the Armenian Church.

During the meeting, the sides also talked about various issues related to the Armenian nation and the Church and the events dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

After the meeting, Berge Setrakian participated in a Divine Liturgy, which was followed by a Requiem Mass for the souls of the Setrakians’ parents, Hmayak Setrakian and Noubar Nazarian to rest in peace.
