Opinions on the Committee for Cultural Relations with Diaspora Armenians

Several renowned Armenians have been members of and have collaborated with the Committee for Cultural Relations with Diaspora Armenians. “Hayern Aysor” presents the opinions that some of them expressed during the event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Committee held at the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

Razmik Davoyan (poet): “The establishment of the Committee for Cultural Relations with Diaspora Armenians became highly significant in Armenian reality. It also had a great impact on my life. It’s safe to say that I spent my best years as a member of that Committee. I was working in the Press Department as a senior consultant and gained experience by working with Vardges Hamazaspyan, Andrey Martirosyan and others.”

Medea Abrahamyan (cellist, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia): “The Committee was established in a difficult period, and it’s safe to say its establishment was historic. All Armenians loved and respected the Committee. It was always a great joy for us to perform for Armenians in the Armenian Diaspora. I always feel happy whenever I remember the Committee.”

Arman Navasardyan (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary): “The Committee for Cultural Relations with Diaspora Armenians was one of a kind. Its greatest mission was to bring Armenia and the Diaspora closer together, and it did that with honor. The members of the Committee were noblemen who will always be remembered for their unbiased efforts.”

Ruben Matevosyan (singer, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia): “The Committee paved the way for my career. My colleague Rayisa Mkrtchyan and I toured and gave concerts in different communities of the Armenian Diaspora. I have always attached importance to the Committee, and now, it’s safe to say that the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia is the successor of the Committee for Cultural Relations with Diaspora Armenians.”
