Armenians of Europe to donate money under godfathership of Patrick Fiori and under the godmothership of Adriana Karembeu

Armenians of Europe are getting ready for the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s All-European Phone-a-Thon, which will be held on November 19-23, 2014. The all-European Phone-a-Thon is one of the annual fundraisers that has been carried out under the direction of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s France Chapter since 2000.

As reported by Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s PR Department to ArmenPress, renowned French-Armenian singer Patrick Fiori and the model with the longest legs in the world, Adriana Karembeu will be the “godfather” and “godmother” during this year’s Phone-a-Thon.

“Every year, there are people who motivate donators and organize telephone calls. This time the participants will be Patrick Fiori and Adriana Karembeu, whose husband is of Armenian descent,” the PR Department representatives mentioned.

The names of the godfather and the godmother were announced on France 2 Television’s Vivement dimache prochain program with guest stars Patrick Fiori and Adriana Karembeu on May 11. The two stars will try to make their contributions to the fundraiser.

The all-European Phone-a-Thon is a large-scale event. For four days and 12 consecutive hours, Armenian and foreign volunteers of different ages and occupations call Armenian families residing in the participating countries and urge them to participate in the fundraiser for the renaissance of Armenia and Artsakh. The Armenian communities of France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Greece and Sweden have been participating in the all-European Phone-a-Thon for the past couple of years.

Throughout the history of the Phone-a-Thon, there have been a total of 411,285 calls, and 20,800 donators have donated 9,938,000 Euros. The sums have been used for the renovation of infrastructures in Armenia and Artsakh.

The Fund’s Argentina, Brazil Chapters and the U.S. Eastern Region, as well as the executive department have also held regular Phone-a-Thons.

With the funds raised last year, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund provided water supply to Artsakh and 10 villages of Armenia’s Tavush province, fully renovated the audio-visual center of Yerevan’s Tchaikovsky Music School and provided the school with equipments, fully renovated the orphanage in Gyumri, built a water supply system in Karin Tak village of the Shushi district and carried out several programs promoting agriculture in the Tavush province of Armenia.
