Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation hosted “Armenians in 2115” Strategic Seminar in Lisbon

The Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation hosted a two-day seminar with Armenian figures and experts in Lisbon on 13-14 October, reports civilnet.
According to the Foundation’s press release, the Armenian Diaspora’s relations with the Government and civil society of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia’s relations with Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as the preservation of the Armenian identity within Armenian communities were discussed during the “Armenians in 2115” Strategic Seminar.
The participants of the seminar shared the view that regional processes, including Armenian-Russian relations, the democratization in Turkey and the role of Azerbaijan’s threats of war play a major role in the Armenia-Diaspora relations and in the preservation of the Armenian communities.
The participants of the discussion expressed the desire to continue meetings in this format.
The “Armenians in 2115” Strategic Seminar was organized by trustee of the Caloust Gulbenkian Foundation Martin Essayan and Director of the Foundation’s Armenian Communities Department Razmig Panossian.
Among the participants were more than 40 Armenian figures, including Ruben Vardanyan, Noubar Afeyan, Jirair Libaridian, Salpi Ghazarian, Ken Hachikian, Vicken Cheterian, Delal Dink, Stepan Panosian, Fatma Muge Giocek, Aris Nalch, Thomas de Vaal and others.
