RA Ministry of Diaspora to sign Agreement on Cooperation with Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation

On October 28 at 15:00, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan and Director of the Armenian Communities Department of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Razmig Panossian will sign an Agreement on Cooperation at the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

Attaching importance to preservation and development of the Armenian language and culture in the Armenian Diaspora and the need for strengthening of relations in science, education, publishing and culture within the frames of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation will collaborate to publish and disseminate materials for the teaching of Western Armenian, to assist in the creation of a center for Western Armenian language instruction in Armenia, to provide scholarships to Diaspora Armenian students pursuing their studies in Armenology at Armenian universities and for other issues.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation was established on July 18, 1956 in Lisbon with the purpose of enhancing science, education, culture and healthcare.

The Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has been around since the establishment of the Foundation. It carries out charity acts and contributes to the development of education, science and the arts.

The key objective of the Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is to preserve Armenian language and culture in the Armenian Diaspora. With that purpose, for more than 50 years, the Foundation has been helping most of the Armenian educational institutions around the world, particularly in the Near East. The Foundation has always undertaken initiatives aimed at strengthening and reinforcing the positions of Armenian communities in different countries around the world.
