Renowned Canadian-Armenian sculptor Megerdich Tarakchian, whose works are mostly the busts of Armenian cultural figures, was recently in Armenia.

Years ago, the sculptor had donated a bronze bust of Yeghishe Charents to the Home-Museum of Yeghishe Charents in Yerevan. During this visit, Tarakchian brought to the homeland the busts of two remarkable Armenian figures- Alan Hovhannes and William Saroyan, as reported on the official website of the RA Ministry of Culture.

The sculptor donated the bust of remarkable musician Alan Hovannes to Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, while the bust of William Saroyan was donated to the school named after the great writer.

In 2012, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia granted a Certificate of Appreciation to Megerdich Tarakchian for his pro-national activities.
