On September 4, leader of the municipal faction of the Christian Union Party (CU) and members of Almelo Municipality’s council Vauter Teeuv and Michel Van Heek participated in a radio interview-debate devoted to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide at Almelo Central Library in the Netherlands.

Among those attending the event were president of the board of the Armenian Apostolic Church Onnik Geliji, representatives of the Sunday school and Homenetmen, as well as several Dutch guests.

The Turk representative of the municipality represented the opposite side.

Vauter Teeuv convincingly talked about the need to recognize the Armenian Genocide and present the reality to the public at large. In spite of the opposite side´s complaints and persistence, an agreement was reached on donating the Dutch version of the book Auction of Souls translated by the Christian Union Party and published in many copies to Almelo Central Library, which was accepted with warm rounds of applause.
