“My Armenia-2014”. “We are and we will be” song performed at Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex
On August 1, the solemn opening of the Days of Choral Arts in scope of the 2nd “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival dedicated to the 85th birth anniversary of People’s Artist of RA and USSR, Merited Master of the Arts of RA, conductor Hovhannes Chekijian, was held at Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall. At the end of the event, “We are and we will be” song (words by Levon Blbulyan and music by Ara Gevorgyan), dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was performed for the first time by the Armenian State Academic Choir and Diaspora choirs participating in the Days of Choral Arts.
The next day, on August 2, “We are and we will be” song was performed at Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex by only Diaspora choirs participating in the Festival (″Makar Yekmalyan″, ″Nerses Shnorhali″, ″Aghbyur″ (Georgia); ″Zvartnots″ and ″Ararat″ choirs (Iran); “Komitas” (USA), “Artsakh” (Egypt); “Ovsanna” (Syria); “Ovsanna”, “Norahrash” and “St. Grigor Lusavorich” (the RF). In the near future, it has been envisaged to shoot a video clip to the song with the participation of not only the Diaspora choirs, but also the Armenian Symphony Orchestra and the Armenian State Academic Choir.
