On July 30, as reported by Aleppo media office to “Armenpress”, Armenians were killed and injured in a missile attack in the Armenian-populated districts. One of the victims was Sona Palekian. She was killed as a result of missile explosion in Jalaa district. Azniv Arushian also died from missile explosion near Zvartnots Church in the New Village district. Later on, it was reported that Gevorg Galemkeryan, who had been wounded in the New Village District,  died. Besides the victims, there are also injured – Juliet Khachaturyan, Gevorg Tashyan, Hakob Hakobyan, Raffi Ayvazyan and Hovhannes Ayvazyan.

Through the last two months, more than a dozen Armenians were killed and injured in Aleppo. In course of more than 3 years of the  Syrian conflict, the number of killed Armenians exceeded 100. Particularly, since the first days of June, the situation has been sharply exacerbated. As a result of the terrorist attacks, numerous apartments in New Village have been deserted and hundreds of apartments need renovation. Today the once Armenian-populated New Village district has become a disaster zone, abandoned and ruined. New Village and Aleppo Armenians are at risk of perdition.

All Armenians have been called upon to support, by all means, in ceasing this inhuman missile launch with the view to ensure physical security for the people facing the disaster.
