The Armenian language lessons for participants of the 5^th stage of the 2014 “Ari Tun” Program at the Stepan Shahumyan School N 1 began with an interesting surprise as the school’s teachers, students and administration held a ceremony devoted to patriotism.

In her opening remarks, Principal Karine Sakanyan greeted the Diaspora Armenian boys and girls from 12 countries and briefly presented the glorious past of the number one school in Yerevan.

The Stepan Shahumyan School has been hosting participants of the “Ari Tun” Program for the past three years. The best teachers of schools in Yerevan give Armenian language lessons and courses on patriotism for the participants throughout the week.

On July 22, the first day of the lessons for the participants of the 5^th stage, Mashtots Avenue was full of participants of the “Ari Tun” Program, members of host families, schoolteachers and students and several passers-by singing patriotic songs, performing dances and reciting patriotic poems. Everyone was in a festive mood, and the Armenian language and the spirit of Mashtots was everywhere.
