Mother See celebrated Holy Etchmiadzin Day
On June 22, the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church solemnly celebrated the Holy Catholic Etchmiadzin Day with a Divine and eternal Liturgy served by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians at the Mother Temple. Among the participants of the ceremony were Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude, Archbishop Nurhan Manukian, as well as cenobites of the Mother See serving in the Dioceses of Armenia and the Diaspora and representatives of the Hierarchical Sees.
Among those attending the Divine Liturgy devoted to Holy Catholic Etchmiadzin Day were RA President Serzh Sargsyan, as well as Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan, Governor of Ararat province Ruben Abrahamyan, chairman of the Diocesan Council of the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese Tigran Sargsyan, as well as benefactors and several pilgrims of the Mother See.
After the sacred ceremony, Vicar of the Prelacy of the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese, Archbishop Navasard Ktchoyan delivered a sermon in which he reflected on the symbol of Holy Etchmiadzin and its significance in the lives of Armenians.
In the end, a Patriarchal Wish was made under the direction of the Catholicos of All Armenians for the fortification and flourishing of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the long service of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
