Opening of FRESCO Festival to be held on June 21st
The official opening ceremony of the FRESCO Annual Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual and Moral Films will be held near Swan Lake in Yerevan on June 21 at 20:00.
By a coincidence, the day of the opening of the festival has coincided with the Yeln I Virapen Day, which symbolizes the exit of Gregory the Illuminator from the Khor Virap dungeon. The festival will be launched at Khor Virap from where the more than 2,000 symbolic candles made by volunteers will be taken to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and will be moved to Yerevan after being blessed. The candles with short prayers will be given to the people in the audience as gifts during the ceremony to be held at Swan Lake.
The organizers aren’t going into details on the content of the event, but promise that the event will be pleasant and extraordinary.
The opening ceremony will include the premiere of the song “Great Fairy Tale”, which was composed by Vahe Hayrapetyan for the FRESCO Festival. Young people with hearing problems will also perform the song on stage and will convey the meaning of the song through gestures.
