On June 17, members of the Great New York Chapter of Tekeyan Cultural Association led by chairman Hagop Vardivarian had an official meeting with Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the United Nations Zohrab Mnatsakanyan at the Embassy in New York. Among the delegates were vice-chairmen, Dr. Vaghinak Darbinyan, Harut Chatmajyan, secretary Shoghig Chalian, treasurer Sirvard Demirtchyan and Dr. Svetlana Amirkhanyan.

Hagop Vardivarian, who is also a member of the TCA Central Committee, welcomed the Ambassador on behalf of the TCA members and directors. As in previous years, Vardivarian extended once again a helping hand to Mr. Mnatsakanyan to participate in the implementation of pan-national events devoted to Armenia’s independence, as well as other national holidays. Vardivarian said the two organizations could also consolidate other Armenian organizations around the Embassy.

Mr. Ambassador talked about his experience in working with the Tekeyan Cultural Association and the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party (Ramgavar) during his term in office in England, Switzerland and Strasbourg, as well as in Yerevan and praised the good contributions of those organizations to the homeland and to the strengthening of Homeland-Diaspora relations. Mnatsakanyan added that those organizations have always supported the Armenian nation’s supreme interests.

Afterwards, the Ambassador was served lunch and continued discussions at the Morgan Library of the famous museum in New York.
