On June 13, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan participated in parliamentary hearings devoted to the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. The hearings were organized by the Standing Committees of the RA National Assembly on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs and Foreign Relations.

Chief of Staff of the RA President, Chief Event Coordinator of the State Commission in charge of Coordinating the Events Dedicated to the 100^thAnniversary of the Armenian Genocide Vigen Sargsyan and RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan also delivered speeches during the hearings.

In her lecture entitled “The Armenian Diaspora Ahead of the 100^th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide: Programs and Initiatives”, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the parliamentary hearings organized by the two NA Standing Committees and emphasized the fact that it will serve as moral and political impetus for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Hakobyan added that the process of coordinating the regional committees in the Diaspora has been reserved for the RA Ministry of Diaspora within the State Commission in charge of Coordinating the Events Dedicated to the 100^th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Presenting in detail the programs that have been carried out and the future actions and events, the minister stressed that the Homeland and the Diaspora are more united as one to properly organize and hold the events dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Hakobyan also attached importance to international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and the elimination of the consequences in which Armenian parliamentarians must show active participation.

After the lecture, Hranush Hakobyan answered several questions from the participants of the hearings.
