Express newspaper reflects on the most important episodes in Aznavour’s life

On the occasion of the 90th birthday of world famous French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour and his concert to be held in London in June, the British Express newspaper has reflected on the most important episodes in the life of the king of songs by a composer.
“When Charles Aznavour first performed on stage at the age of 9, Adolf Hitler became Germany’s chancellor, James McDonald was Britain’s Prime Minister, and the average salary in the country was 3.60 Euros a week, but the 90-year old singer referred to as France’s Frank Sinatra didn’t show any sign of weakness on stage,” writes Express.
Aznavour has performed 1,000 songs. He wrote his first song in 1941 when the Fascists had seized Paris, but British music lovers know Aznavour for two songs, including The Old Fashioned Way and She, which spent four weeks on several British charts in 1974.
“Aznavour has a glorious career in music, but he had to overcome several obstacles for that. He has even been described as very short and ugly. The singer mentions that he grew up in an atmosphere of love, music and poverty. To achieve success, he was greatly supported by singer Edit Piaf, who taught Aznavour everything he needed in music.”
Charles Aznavour has been married 3 times and has 6 children. As he has mentioned, he was very young the first time he got married, and was very stupid the second time.
The singer has also confessed that he doesn’t like women who consider themselves a star after spending a night with him. He has always dumped those kinds of women..
Express also writes that it’s nice to see the 90-year old Aznavour continue to sing and please his fans, and the singer has confessed that he wishes to live until he turns 120 years old.
On May 22nd, French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour celebrates his 90th birthday.
