RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan awards board member of the territorial division of the Union of Armenians of Russia and board member of the Armenian community of Volgograd Artur Martirosyan

On May 19, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan granted the Boghos Nubar Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora to board member of the territorial division of the Union of Armenians of Russia, President of the Armenian Community NGO of Volgograd, Head of Max Association Artur Martirosyan.

The RA Minister of Diaspora praised Martirosyan’s several charity programs that have contributed to the preservation of the Armenian identity and the dissemination of Armenian culture in Volgograd.

“You left the homeland in 1989, but have been carrying out large-scale activities to preserve the Armenian identity in the distant Volgograd for many years. The Union of Armenians of Russia has already praised your services to the homeland. Today, you are sponsoring the construction of the new St. Gevorg Armenian Church and the Armenian spiritual cultural center in Volgograd where there are more than 100,000 Armenians,” the minister mentioned.

The RA Minister of Diaspora urged to call the new cultural center after Mesrop Mashtots and called on ending all the liturgies at the church by taking the children and youth to the cultural center where they will become familiar with Armenian cultural values.

Expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Diaspora for the attention and generosity towards the Armenians in Volgograd, Artur Martirosyan assured that from now on, the Armenian community of Volgograd would work more actively with the ministry and would participate in the several programs for the strengthening of bonds between the Homeland and the Diaspora.
