Armenian Genocide Commemoration events in France

On Apr. 24, a Requiem Mass was served in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide at the Apostolic Church of Bomon in Marseilles and was followed by a thousand-man march to the April 24th monument under the leadership of Mayor of Marseilles, Senator Jean Claude Gaudin, president of the Supreme Council of Bouche-du-Ron, Senator Jean Noel Gerini, president of the municipal community of Marseilles Provence Metropol Gui Tesie, RA Consul General in Marseilles Vartan Srmakech and leaders of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of Marseilles and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Armenian Genocide Memorial. Among the participants of the events were heads of local self-government bodies, parliamentarians, public and political figures, clergymen, representatives of cultural and journalistic circles and thousands of French-Armenians.
On the same day, the liturgy of mourning served at the Armenian Apostolic Church in Lyon was followed by a rally dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide near the Armenian Genocide Memorial adjacent to Belcour Square in Lyon. Among the participants of the commemoration event were Mayor of Lyon Gerard Colon, RA Consul General Nikolay Sarkisov, representatives of the Ron-Alp regional council and local authorities, deputies, senators, several political and cultural figures, local media representatives, as well as thousands of Frenchmen and French-Armenians.
April 24th commemoration events were also held in the French cities of Nice, Grenoble, Sen-Samon, Valence, Sent-Etien, Ex-an-Provence, Bouc-Bel Er, Cannes, Draginian, Gardan, Rocbrun-sur Argence, Sen-Rafael, Toulon, Biarits, Bordo, Clermon-Feran, Montelimar, Montpelier, Strasbourg and Toulouse.
