“Spring is always in my heart when my mother kisses me”
The Armenian Holy Apostolic Church celebrates the Day of Tiding of the Holy Virgin every year on April 7th. This day has been declared Motherhood and Beauty Day with the blessing and by the decree of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, and pregnant mothers are blessed at all churches.
The Armenian people refer to the church, the homeland, the land and the language as their mother. With this Tiding the Armenians express more appreciation of the idea of motherhood, as well as the great symbol of giving new life to the world, improving society, forming and creating.
The teachers of the “Armat” Armenian Sunday School of Krasnodar always participate in all church and pan-national holidays. On April 7th, they hold certain events dedicated to mothers and the Holy Virgin.
On that day, the members of Urartu Group had come to school with their mothers. Teacher Meksida Hovhannisyan had called on them and had taught them wonderful songs and poems, and the children had embroidered icons and had made postcards. The lesson automatically turned into a large cognitive event during which the students presented the symbol of the day, the history of the holiday and glorified generous mothers and grandmothers. The teacher referred to the moral image of Armenian mothers, who are set aside by their devotion, exceptional abilities to overcome difficulties and their great vigor to sacrifice themselves.
The blue heaven is mine,
When I see my mother’s eyes,
And even the stars in the dark
smile at me with a tender smile…
Spring, bring the peace of all mothers to the world and the Armenian land with the scent of flowers and warm winds!
