The ARF-D Armenian National Committee of Holland is organizing several events ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Chairman of the ARF-D Armenian National Committee of Holland Massis Abrahamian informed that the Committee’s events are agreed with the events that are being organized by other Armenian National Committees across Europe. “We have made our proposals, and there are some joint events,” said Massis Abrahamian.
According to Abrahamian, the Armenian National Committee of Holland is preparing to release a video in which Dutch celebrities call on everyone to put in efforts for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. “Holland has recognized the Armenian Genocide by principle. Our other initiative is to have many people and many public and political figures participate in the April 24th protest in 2015,” said Massis Abrahamian, adding that the Committee is currently holding talks with all churches of Holland to have the bells of all churches ring nationwide at any symbolic hour on April 24th.
The Chairman of the Armenian National Committee added that even though the 100th anniversary serves as a good opportunity to have the Armenian Genocide be recognized, it doesn’t mean that Armenians shouldn’t be prepared for the years to come. “The harder we work the better. Holding large-scale commemoration events dedicated to the 100th anniversary doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t hold large-scale events dedicated to the 101st or 102nd anniversaries. We have to put in our efforts so that we can achieve our goals,” said Massis Abrahamian.
Abrahamian also mentioned that Dutch celebrities have called on everyone around the world to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
