We condemn the recent attacks on Kessab via Turkey.

For months we had been warning the international community that these foreign extremist soldiers in Syria present a serious danger to the Christian minority in Syria.

These brutal and unprovoked attacks on the Armenian-populated Kessab region and the nearby villages set a new example of the violence that Turkey encourages.

We urge all countries involved in the Syrian crisis to put in all their efforts to put an end to these attacks against the peaceful civilians of Kessab and allow them to return to their homes safe and sound.

This is the third time that the Armenians are being forced to leave Kessab in the last century, and Turkey has been the attacker or the supporter in all three cases.

At the same time, the international community needs to restrain Turkey so that it puts an end to this and other anti-Armenian actions and end its inimical policy against Armenia and Armenians.
