Hayk Utijyan directed concert dedicated to Lithuania’s Independence Day

The choir and orchestra of Karl University and the Pro Musica Choir of the University of Vilnius performed at a big concert dedicated to the Independence of the Republic of Lithuania at the Czech Music Hall in Prague recently. The concert was directed by artistic director and conductor of the choir and orchestra Hayk Utijyan. The event began with welcoming remarks by Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Czech Republic Aurimas Taurantas, after which the choirs and the orchestra performed Rossini’s Stabat Mater. Among other performers were soprano Vera Kavanova-Polakhova, violist Lutsie Hilskherova, tenor Stanislav Mistr and bass Petr Seypal. Conductor of the Lithuanian choir Rasa Gelgotine also attended the concert.
