Wings of Tatev sets special tariffs for women for March 8

On the occasion of Women’s day the administration of Wings of Tatev set special tariffs for women. Armenpress reports that on 8th of March women will get 50% discount for aerial tramways’ tickets.

The one-way ticket for Wings of Tatev tramway will cost 1500 AMD and the two-way ticket will cost 2000 AMD. Women from nearby communities will be transported free of charge.
The Wings of Tatev Aerial Tramway was built as part of the Tatev Revival Project on October 16 2010. The length of the aerial line broke the world record, and its construction was also completed in a record-breaking timeframe of ten months. Thus, on October 23 2010 it was registered in the Guinness International Records Book, as the longest reversible ropeway.

The project was designed and implemented by Doppelmayr/Garaventa, an Austrian-Swiss company that is a world leader in aerial tramway design.
A cable car ride to the Monastery takes just 12 minutes. By land it would take 40 minutes along the steep, winding road through the Vorotan River Gorge. As one tramway cabin reaches the Tatev Terminal, the other arrives at the Halidzor Terminal. Each cabin holds 25 passengers and a tram driver, and each hour 200 passengers ride this unique tramway. Three massive supports divide the ropeway into four sections, with the longest at 2.7 kilometers. From this section, passengers can enjoy a magnificent view as they approach the Monastery.
