Minister Nalbandyan met with FMs of Latvia and Honduras in Geneva

In Geneva Edward Nalbandyan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkevichs.

The ministers praised the friendly cooperation established between the two countries and underlined the fact that there is a desire and potential to enhance cooperation.

In the context of the Latvian presidency of the European Union in the first semester of 2015, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Latvia exchanged views on Armenia-EU relations and emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest.

During the conversation, the sides also touched upon the strengthening of cooperation within international organizations.

Edgars Rinkevichs invited Edward Nalbandyan to Riga for an official visit.

In Geneva Minister Nalbandyan also met with State Secretary for Foreign Relations of Honduras Mireya Aguero de Corales.

The sides exchanged views on the opportunities for development of bilateral relations.

Edward Nalbandyan presented Armenia’s and the international community’s efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and underlined the importance of supporting the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ efforts.

In this context, Edward Nalbandyan stressed the fact that by ignoring and going against the position of the international community on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution, which is expressed in the statements made by the Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries, Azerbaijan is pursuing the goal of disorientating its opinion and the opinion of the international community. Armenia’s foreign minister said that with that purpose, Azerbaijan has taken different measures and is trying to disseminate false statements on the conflict, causing harm to the process of negotiations and the efforts of the Co-Chairs for the conflict resolution.

The ministers agreed on strengthening contacts between the two countries and accrediting concurrent Ambassadors to Yerevan and Tegusigalpa, reports the RA MFA press service.
