President of Georgia visited Etchmiadzin and met his longtime friend from the army

During the two-day official visit to Armenia, President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili visited Etchmiadzin and met with his friend from the army, Robert Abrahamyan. According to “ArmenPress”, the President posted photos of his meeting on his Facebook page and left a comment stating that he was very happy to have met an old friend of his.

The President wrote that he met Robert Abrahamyan by accident during his military service at the military unit in Etchmiadzin and they have been friends ever since. According to the Georgian President, he simply had to visit his longtime friend, who had taken care of him for six months. On his Facebook page, the President wrote that the Armenian-Georgian relations are historic and the best reflection of those historic ties is seen in his friendship with Robert.

During the meeting, Robert Abrahamyan mentioned that he and his family were very happy and proud when they found out that Margvelishvili had been elected President.

“I was very happy when my wife told me that Margvelishvili has arrived in Armenia. When I was told that the President wanted to meet us, I got emotional. We had been waiting for this visit,” said Robert Abrahamyan during the meeting.

The Abrahamyans are musicians. Robert Abrahamyan plays several instruments and works at Makar Yekmalyan Music School in Etchmiadzin.
