“ARI TUN-2014” kicking off
Dear compatriots,
The RA Ministry of Diaspora is launching the 2014 “Ari Tun” Program for helping Diaspora Armenian youth become familiar with the homeland.
The goal of the program is to familiarize Diaspora Armenian youth with Armenia the homeland, instill in them awareness of the national identity, introduce them to the Armenian people’s customs and traditions, the Armenian family, an Armenian’s psychology, as well as support to the strengthening of bonds between Armenia and the Diaspora in the realms of morality, psychology, education and culture.
The program will be launched on June 15, 2014 and will end on August 30. During the program, Diaspora Armenian teens and youth between the ages of 13 and 18 will stay with Armenian host families and will participate in the camping event during the stages that will last two weeks.
The host families are selected by districts of Yerevan, regional councils of Armenia’s provinces and the RA Ministry of Diaspora, and the youth will be hosted gratuitously. The visits of the Diaspora Armenian youth to Armenia are organized by schools, structures and organizations of Diaspora Armenian communities with the support of Armenia’s diplomatic representations in the given country. The Diaspora Armenian youth visiting Armenia cover their airfare by themselves or via sponsors.
During the “Ari Tun” Program, the RA Ministry of Diaspora makes sure that the youth are greeted and seen off, organizes visits to museums and sightseeing in the country. During the camping event, the youth will participate in classes devoted to the Armenian language, native studies, Armenian song, dance and more. The youth will also meet with Armenia’s state, public and cultural figures.
We are certain that the “Ari Tun” Program will highly contribute to the preservation of the Armenian identity and “Hayadardzutyun” (bringing back to the Armenian roots), as well as the creation of a unified network for communication between the youth.
