On Jan. 26, by the order of Vicar of the Prelacy of the Bulgarian-Armenian Diocese, Father, Archimandrite Abgar Hovakimyan, a Requiem Mass in memory of Junior Sergeant Armen Hovhannisyan who died heroically on the border of the NKR and in memory of Armenian soldiers who have died during the defense of Armenia’s borders was held after the Divine Liturgy at all Armenian churches in Bulgaria. The Requiem Masses were performed at the Armenian churches in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse and Burgas.

The Requiem Mass following the Divine Liturgy at St. Mary Church of Sofia was held under the direction of Archimandrite Abgar Hovakimyan, who presented the attending faithful with the endeavor of Junior Sergeant Armen Hovhannisyan. “Unfortunately, peace in our Homeland is achieved at the price of our heroic and devoted soldiers. We pray to God that the Holy Spirit consoles the parents and relatives of our hero and all those who mourn the loss of Armen,” His Holiness said.
