The member of the Armenian national chess men’s team and the current champion of Armenia Tigran Petrosyan promises to preserve the title of the champion and provide for the tournament full of surprises.

“Certainly I will do my best to preserve the title of the champion and strengthen my place in the team. I consider myself to be the main pretender. In any case there will be surprises but I will not reveal them”, – said the Grandmaster.

Tigran Petrosyan will also participate in the European Individual Championship to be held in March 2014 in Yerevan.

On January 12-21 the 74th tournament of Armenia will be held in Yerevan, which will be attended by ten grandmasters: Tigran Petrosyan, Hrant Melkumyan, Zaven Andriasyan, Arman Pashikyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Karen Grigoryan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Avetik Grigoryan, Levon Babujyan and Tigran Kotanjyan.
