On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, the first and second Senior Classes of the Theological Seminary of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, headed by Father Zaven Najarian, visited Mesrobian High School. During the forty-day Lent period, part of the Seminary’s mission and tradition consists of visiting various Lebanese-Armenian schools and institutions, and speaking about the message of the Lent and the mission of the Seminary.

Mesrobian’s Principal Mr. Gregoire Kaloust received the seminarians in his office, where he briefly presented the mission and programs of Mesrobian. Then, two separate meetings were held with the students of the intermediate and secondary classes at Farajian Hall, where the guests presented a program.

The opening speech was delivered by Demise Ayvazian, who briefly introduced the Seminary’s mission. Then, fragments from the hymns of Morning Service were sung, after which Deacon Apraham Degirmenjian spoke about the importance of Lent and prayer. Next, Subdeacon Noubar Pampalian presented St. Mary’s Monastery in Bikfaya. The closing speech was delivered by Father Zaven Najarian, followed by Mesrobian’s Spiritual Superintendent Father Raffi Hovhannessian, who expressed his immense joy and heartfelt words to the students of Mesrobian and the seminarians. Mr. Gregoire Kaloust expressed his deep gratitude to the seminarians. Afterwards, a souvenir was handed to Mr. Kalousd on behalf of the Theological Seminary.

In the end, everyone gathered in front of St. Mesrob Mashdots Monument in Mesrobian’s courtyard for a group picture, thus concluding this historical day.
