Delegates of Armenia’s Armed Forces on visit to Syria

The delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia is currently in Syria.

As reported Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Aleppo Armen Sargsyan to Hayern Aysor, on 9 July, escorted by the Consul General, the members of the delegation visited AGBU Aleppo Chapter where they were received by members of the AGBU Aleppo Regional Committee led by Chairman Nerses Nersoian. Issues related to the provision of humanitarian aid to Syria and to the Armenia-Diaspora partnership were discussed during a meeting, and a reception was hosted for the delegation in the evening.

On 10 July, the delegation of the Armed Forces of Armenia, escorted by Armen Sargsyan, visited Tekeyan Cultural Center, which was destroyed during the war and where they were greeted by Chairman of Tekeyan Cultural Association Garabed Shoushanian. During the visit, issues on launching renovation of the cultural center were touched upon.

On the same day, Armenia’s delegation, escorted by Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Aleppo Armen Sargsyan, visited the school of Cilician Educational Institution where the guests were received by members of the curatorship of the Social Democrat (Hunchakian) Party. Afterwards, an official reception was hosted, and the marching band of Homenmen performed Syrian march songs.

The Armenian officers also visited the building of the pre-school and kindergarten of the school destroyed during the war and discussed issues related to restoration of the institutions.

On 11 July, the delegation left for Latakia with the accompaniment of Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Aleppo Armen Sargsyan.
