Iran’s Ararat Armenian Dance Group wins award at international festival in Batumi

During the International Song and Dance Festival held on 1-2 July in Batumi, the Ararat Dance Group of the Arts Union of Ararat Armenian Cultural Organization (AACO) performed unique dances and scored the Grand Prix.
Hayern Aysor, citing Iran’s Alik Daily, reports that the nearly 50-member delegation of Ararat Dance Group performed in two different categories. The jury comprised leading specialists and professionals who rated the participants’ mastery of performance, the technique of movements, the compositional structure of the particular dance number, talent and other features.
The festival was held at Batumi Art Center and gathered dance groups from Armenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia, Latvia and other countries. For many years, Ararat Dance Group of the Arts Union of Ararat Armenian Cultural Organization has been a unique smithy for preservation of Armenian dances, and for years, dozens of youth have been bearing ��?Armenianness’ to the rhythms of national dances and working hard to maintain the sources for reinforcement of the national spirit.
