Together4Armenia consolidates 62 Armenian professionals from 14 countries

On June 27, the UNICEF, the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia and the Armenian General Benevolent Union, along with Deputy Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Davit Sargsyan, presented the re-launched version of the Together4Armenia platform (www.Together4Armenia.am). The goal of the platform, which offers new opportunities, is to establish a durable and effective relationship between Armenian experts abroad and the communities and non-governmental organizations in Armenia.

Together4Armenia encourages intellectual volunteerism, serving as a bridge between local undertakings and Diaspora Armenian professionals who are ready to serve their knowledge for the development of Armenia’s provinces. The modified platform is simpler and more user-friendly during registration and cooperation. The platform has a search engine and an online chat system that helps one quickly find specialists meeting the requirements of a community program and establish direct ties.

“Together4Armenia promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience and the manifestation of goodwill, which is very important in the current stage of Armenia’s development. We fully hope that this platform helps use the potential of the best professionals of the Diaspora to strengthen Armenia’s communities, creating a safer and more prosperous environment for Armenian families and children,” Representative of the UNICEF in Armenia Tanya Radochay noted.

Since 2016, over 60 professionals have transferred their experience to nearly 2,100 residents of Armenia through this free web platform. Their participation and words of advice help find solutions to various community-related issues and convey new air to the development of various sectors, starting from education and innovative technologies and ending with agriculture and project management.

“For the Armenian General Benevolent Union, having a comprehensively developed and active civil society is one of the preconditions for building a stronger Armenia. We are certain that engagement of the potential of Diaspora Armenian professionals in the development of civil society in Armenia serves as a unique opportunity that will also help establish relations between Armenia and the Diaspora in the long run. These are the two major goals of AGBU Armenia, and Together4Armenia serves as a major platform for accomplishing those goals,” AGBU Armenia Bridge4CSOs Program Director Arsen Stepanyan noted.

The participants of the event were introduced to the stories of experts and beneficiaries involved in the project and discussed the value of intellectual volunteerism as a significant resource for achieving a tangible outcome in Armenia’s development.
