On June 23, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received pilgrims of the St. Sargis Armenian Church of the U.S. Western Diocese in Santa Clarita led by the Church’s pastor, Priest Serovbe Alanjian at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, reported the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Priest Serovbe Alanjian introduced the Supreme Patriarch to the pilgrims, touched upon church life and shared impressions of the visit to Armenia.

Giving his patriarchal blessings to the pilgrims, the Catholicos of All Armenians appreciated the spiritual pastor for organizing the visit. His Holiness also stated that the pilgrimage would provide the followers of the St. Sargis Church with the opportunity to be inspired by the homeland and become stronger with the faith and culture of their ancestors.

With satisfaction, Catholicos Karekin II emphasized that the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church is reawakening in the independent Armenia and reinstating its mission in different spheres. The Supreme Patriarch affirmed that the spiritual life of Armenians is brilliant thanks to the devoted service of Armenian clergymen.

His Holiness also expressed his appreciation to the pilgrims who, being the descendants of Armenians who survived the Armenian Genocide and settled in the United States of America, have managed to preserve their native language and live as Armenians.

During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians also asked the pilgrims about life within the Armenian community of Santa Clarita and the community’s activities.
