Students of International Relations Department of Tbilisi State University visit Akhaltskha’s St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church

On June 23, students of the Department of International Relations at Tbilisi State University visited the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Akhaltskha. The pilgrims met with Spiritual Superintendent of Akhaltskha, Father Hakob Sahakyan, Priest Torgom Vardanyan and members of the Media/Analysis Center of Samtskhe-Javakhk, writes akhaltskha.net.

The history of the Armenian Apostolic Church and several issues concerning the Armenian Church in Georgia were presented during the meeting with the students, and the issue of registration of churches and the churches deemed to be disputable were particularly touched upon. Armenian clergymen particularly emphasized the importance of development and strengthening of the friendly ties between the Georgians and Armenians.

The students asked the Armenian clergymen their questions with great interest and received answers to every question.
