Catholicos of All Armenians receives Armenian Argentine pilgrims

On May 27, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received a group of pilgrims of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Among them were members of the editorial staff of Sardarabad Weekly of Tekeyan Cultural Center, escorted by pastor of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Buenos Aires, Archimandrite Maghakia Amirian.

As reported the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to Hayern Aysor, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his joy for the visit of the Armenian children of Argentina to Armenia and Artsakh and emphasized that he has sweet memories of the Armenian community of Argentina and its generosity. His Holiness stated that he always feels proud when he talks about the Armenian community of Argentina because it is one of the most organized communities of the Armenian Diaspora and a community of Armenians who have a sense of “Armenianness” and the national spirit.

The Catholicos of All Armenians asked the attendees about the state of Armenian educational institutions in Argentina and said it was important for them not to be zealous towards dedication and preservation of the national identity and make all efforts to make sure Armenian schools operate without any constraints.

During the meeting, the Catholicos also touched upon the service provided by the clergymen of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina. The pilgrims expressed gratitude to the Armenian Pontiff for a generation of devoted and educated clergymen who undergo training at the Mother See and reinforce awareness of the Armenian identity and strengthen the love for the homeland and the Holy Church with their service.

At the end, His Holiness conveyed his love and kind wishes to the Armenians of Argentina and particularly appreciated their national spirit and loyalty to the Armenian Church.
