On May 5, the hall of the Armenian Co-Ed Youth Association of Baghdad (ACYAB) hosted a reception dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the declaration of the Republic of Armenia and organized by the Armenian Women’s Cultural Union of Iraq (AWCUI).

Hayern Aysor, citing the website of the Armenian Prelacy of Iraq, reports that the attendees of the event were Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Iraq, Archbishop Avak Asadourian; the clergy; Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iraq Karen Grigoryan; central board members and guests.

In her opening remarks, Chairwoman of the AWCUI Noushig Melkonian stressed the role of Armenian women in shaping the homeland.

The event also featured recitation of poems and performances of songs.
