Armenian Genocide commemoration event held in Moscow (video)

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Russia hosted an event commemorating the canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide under the title “Red Dawn”. The event was organized by the “Armada” youth wing of the Towards Ararat Union and the “Russian-Armenian Cooperation (PAC)” NGO. Among the participants were representatives of the Embassy and the public, political, cultural and community organizations of the Russian Federation.
The cultural event, which was held under the title “Red Dawn”, was devoted to the ruined destinies of people, struggle, consolidation and the fight for claims. These commemoration events, which have already become traditional for the young Armenians of Moscow, are the duty and remembrance of the generations to and of their ancestors. They serve as an opportunity to tell the world not only about losses and suffering, but also heroic acts and rebellion, as well as the unity, rich history and culture of the Armenian people.
The commemoration event featured not only presentations of the tragic events that took place 103 years ago, but also a photo exhibition showcasing photos of the most ethereal events that took place during the Genocide and photos embodying the destiny of the Armenian nation. The most brilliant manifestation of the Armenian Genocide is the Armenian Diaspora, most of the members of which are descendants of those who were killed during the genocide and the avengers who became heroes. “We Armenians are certain that, through consolidation, we will be able to introduce a new format of cultural values in our fight for claims and show, through the language of culture and the arts, that Armenians have never given up the fight for claims and that we defend our just cause,” member of the Armenian National Committee of Moscow Nerses Nersisyan stated.
The event ended with the triumphant Armenian yarkhushta dance performed by the scouts of Homenetmen Moscow, calls for the empowerment of Armenia and its statehood, as well as performances of songs devoted to Armenian avenger Soghomon Tehleryan.
