Turkish writer says “Yes, I deny the genocide” in Germany, asked to leave the sessions hall

An interesting event took place during the May 4 session of The General Assembly organization, which is established as an alternative to the United Nations in Berlin.
The participants of the session touched upon the issue of recognition of the Armenian Genocide. In particular, in his speech, Turkish writer and activist Tugrul Semanoglu stayed true to Turkey’s policy of denial and insisted that “it is not the resolutions adopted during such sessions that should determine the authenticity of historic events”. In his speech, he stated that the Armenian Genocide is “an invented genocide” and “the result of imagination”. The organization’s president responded to Semanoglu’s statement with the following: “What do you mean by that? Do you deny the genocide? I want a specific answer.” In response, Semanoglu said the following: ?Yes, I deny it.”
Afterwards, the organization’s president asked Semanoglu to leave the session hall. However, not all the participants accepted Semanoglu’s removal from the hall. Some participants claimed that the president’s step contradicts democratic principles.
