Armenian community of Saratov Oblast celebrated International Women’s Day

On March 4, the Kroonk Armenian Youth Theater-Studio and the “Melody of Rain” instrumental ensemble of the Armenian community of Saratov Oblast held a literary-musical event entitled “Spring Has Come” and devoted to International Women’s Day (8 March). The event marked the launch of the month-long events devoted to women within the Armenian community of Saratov.
The poems of Hamo Sahyan, Paruyr Sevak, Vahagn Davtyan, Hovhannes Shiraz, Vahan Teryan, Amali and Alicia Kirakosyan were recited to the sounds of springtime melodies. The poems were devoted to love and motherhood. Poet and painter Laura Khachatryan and young creator Norik Ghevondyan also gave inspiring speeches.
At the end of the event, the artists of the theater-studio gave all the attending women gifts and flowers.
The audience gave long rounds of applause and expressed kind wishes to artists Naira Srapionyan, Nelly, Mary and Sipan Mkhitaryan, Albert and Henri Stepanyan, Arthur Grigoryan, Andranik Chilingaryan, Tsovinar Grigoryan and Artush Zatikyan.
Among those attending the event were Vice-President of “Kroonk” Armenian Community Arayik Kosyan; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Daniil Puchinyan and Deputy Director of the Municipal Home of National Cultures of Saratov Marina Bokareva.
